Back yard snapping turtle
Chelydra serpentina, the Common Snapping Turtle, she has come up from the pond this morning probably to lay eggs. When she is walking full speed, up high on her legs, neck and head fully extended, she truly echoes her prehistoric past (check out that dinosaur like tail). One must be careful as she can easily bite off a finger or a toe.
