Remember that day so well. End of lunch period, at locker and about to go to class when the horrific news came. Went on to class, I remember it being as somber as it had never been .... and lots of soft crying. Where were you that day?
We were at Kapiolani (or Ala Moana?) Park on our 8th Grade Picnic when Teddy Bailey heard it on her transistor radio. No one believed her at first...then people were sobbing hysterically.

4th grade, the towering Joan Rose announced it to each kid as we came into class after lunch. To me it was just as large as 9/11, unforggetable.
